I don’t know about you, but my friends and I are obsessed with what the latest and greatest is at the moment. You need that person who recommends the “thing” you need in your life right now.
I will gladly volunteer to be your person…
Welcome to Sommer Finds (the travel edition)!
- I discovered this backpack very recently and gave it a true test by taking it with me on a trip to Costa Rica where my suitcase could only weigh 30 pounds (I came in at 30 on the dot!). I needed more space to pack and was in search of a backpack that wasn’t HUGE but would hold a lot of stuff. Ladies (and gentlemen as there is a “boy” version), I give you the Amazon.com: LOVEVOOK 40L Large Travel Backpack for Women Men, 17 Inch Carry on Backpack for Traveling on Airplane, Personal Item Bag Airline Approved, Business Causal Weekender Backpack, Black-Brown : Electronics
Here’s the list of what I packed into my backpack: 4 dresses, 2 hoodies, 2 tank tops, 1 pair flip flops, water bottle, hairbrush, snacks, 4 pouches (makeup, electronics, plane items, medications), travel folder, magazine, notebook, kindle!!
- I’m known for being just a little bit paranoid. I say cautious, not paranoid but to each his own. This little item takes up virtually no space in your suitcase and will help you sleep easy at night if you’re traveling solo or in a location that is a little bit sketchy. This door wedge will stop the door from opening and sound a loud alarm if someone tries to enter your room.
- Air Tags!! I use them for many things: throw one in your suitcase to track your bag when it is in the airline’s hands, leave it in your suitcase at your destination and you can find your way back to your hotel if your maps service is unreliable, put one in your cousin’s bag when they travel overseas alone so you can sleep at night (I can’t be the only one to have done that, right?), attach one to your dog’s collar in case your pup is a “runner”.

- I was sitting next to a very important looking business fellow on a Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo and he was charging his phone on a sophisticated charger while I had mine hooked up to about 3 feet of charging cord. My cord was in all of our space and I swore that when I got home, I would find a charger that won’t embarrass me. This charger is more than I could have hoped for, it charges my phone, kindle, battery pack, and my Gent’s headlamp. It’s amazing and you need one!
- I’ll never forget my first trip across the pond… Our dear friends in Europe do not believe in facecloths. I learned my lesson and travel with these everywhere!
Let me know if you try some of these finds and what you think!
Thanks for the tips! I really like the charging cables and the air tags. I’m checking these out!
Awesome!
